“I AM: The Startling Claim of Jesus”

I recently participated in a virtual small group study of the book, I AM: The Startling Claim of Jesus. The book is only 71 pages long but is packed with the deep Biblical truths.

The author, Dr. Jesse C. Middendorf*, brought the I AM statements from the book of John alive in four weekly messages. Links to The videos and discussion questions are listed at the bottom of the page

Chapter 1Declaration

Gives us historical context for the I AM statements from the Old Testament (primarily Genesis & Exodus) and then brings us forward to the book of John in the New Testament.

Chapter 5 I Am the Good Shepherd

“Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.” – John 10:1-3

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” – John 10:11 NIV
